Summit View High School

In 1990, Battle Ground School District implemented an alternative learning program designed to serve a diverse student population, including at-risk students, teen parents, working teens, and alternative and self directed learners. The program was designed to help these students earn credits and return to a traditional educational setting. It soon became apparent that the alternative approach to education was working so successfully that steps were taken to pursue the rigorous process of becoming a fully accredited Washington state high school. This goal became reality in 1997 in Summit View High School.

 

Today, Summit View's faculty, staff and students work under a challenging and meaningful educational program that hold the students accountable to District Academic standards in each subject area as well as the state standards. In addition, Summit View believes in preparing students for further education and the world of work.
