I have been
a school psychologist/counselor since1981, and at Laurin since 1993.
I have a master's degree in counseling. I approach counseling with
the philosophy that helping individuals feel capable ("I can
do something!"), feel significant ("I feel important in
the scheme of things"), and feel influencial ("I can make
things happen and I'm not a victim"). In addition to performing
regular school psychologist functions, I also teach an eighth grade
elective: Peer Helpers, where Laurin students work in classrooms
at Glenwood Heights Primary school, as well a provide parent education
classes.
