Free and Reduced Lunch/Title 1
You may ask what Free and Reduced lunch has to do with Title
1 programs? Title 1 funding is dependent upon the number of students
enrolled in the Free and Reduced lunch program. What can Title
1 programs provide? Title 1 funding allows schools to have several
teachers on staff who work with children needing individual attention.
It also provides access to additional grant funding.
How can I ensure this program continues? As a parent, you can improve
our chances of eligibility by enrolling your child in the Free
and Reduced lunch program. Please complete the application sent
to you during the first week of school. Have your child return
it to his/ her homeroom teacher. If your child was enrolled in
this program last year, the Federal government requires that you
reapply this school year. Last year's participants will be eligible
only until the end of the second week of school. No one other than
you, your child, and the school administrator of the program knows
of your participation in this valuable program. You may also download
the application in various languages at the Nutritional
Services website.
