Battle Ground School District Graduation Requirements

SUCCESS FOR ALL STUDENTS!

Battle Ground School District wants the best for its students– success at whatever they choose to do in life.
To ensure this success, our students and parents must be familiar with the four statewide graduation requirements established by the Washington State Board of Education. The Battle Ground School District has further defined these requirements
Each student must successfully:

  • Complete a Culminating Project
  •  Earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement by  passing  the Washington Assessment for Student Learning/High School Proficiency Exam  (WASL/HSPE)
  •  Develop and update a  High School and Beyond Plan
  • Earn 22 credits (23 credits for class of 2012 and beyond)

Culminating Project

Using “Career Cruising”, a web-based portfolio system, each student will complete a Culminating Project which includes career research, post-secondary planning, and samples of best work from high school assignments or projects and/or extracurricular activities.  Portfolios will be created during the freshmen year and updated annually with final completion during the senior year.

Students and their parents may access Career Cruising and the portfolio from any computer with online capabilities.

Students who transfer into the Battle Ground School District will consult with their counselors for Culminating Project requirements.

High School and Beyond Plan

Students will detail their plans for meeting the high school graduation requirements and what they expect to do one year after graduation in their annual High School and Beyond Plan.
