2005 Construction Bond

The School Board would like to express gratitude for your support of children with the passage of Bond Proposition A. You have our commitment to providing the best facilities for the best price.

The promises we made will be kept. We appreciate your trust and will work to maintain it. We will continue to work with community in developing plans to meet high school facility needs. A timeline for construction has been developed, and we will provide regular project status reports.

2005 Construction Bond Projects include:

First K-4 and 5-8

    • Sited at 20 th Avenue and 239 th Street
    • Anticipated Occupancy September 2007


Second K-4 and 5-8

    • Anticipated Occupancy September 2008


Purchase land for a new high school

    • Provide for land prep up to the filing of the conditional use permit
    • Purchase land for other school sites


Replace the lower building at Amboy

    • Includes commons/cafeteria and classrooms


Conversion of a portion of Chief to Chief/Captain Elementary

    • Dismantle Chief Umtuch Primary
    • Add 10 classrooms & gym to Chief/Captain Complex
    • Move fifth graders to Lewisville and create a K- 4 configuration


Replace Lewisville, but leave the building for other uses

    • Includes commons/cafeteria and classrooms
    • Add fifth grade students from Captain Strong
    • Possible uses of old Lewisville: maintenance, print shop, or food service


Addition at Laurin Middle School

    • Addition of commons/cafeteria
    • HVAC upgrade
    • Parking lot upgrades at Glenwood and Laurin


Convert BGHS Cafeteria to Stage

    • Stage with retractable seating


Prairie High School Modifications

    • Refurbish auditorium
    • Replace track
    • Replace all original 1979-era roofs


HVAC Upgrade/Replacement

    • Major projects to occur at Pleasant Valley and Glenwood


Technology Upgrades

    • Upgrade wiring/technology infrastructure at schools not being replaced

Cost of Bond Proposition “A ”

State Matching: $36,669,484 Local Bond: $62,950,000 Total: $99,619,484.
